Biography. Ekaterina Mamysheva — Opera singer / SOUNDTRACK VOCALIST

Ekaterina Mamysheva was born in Russia beyond the Arctic Circle, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean in the city of Murmansk. She showed interest in singing at the age of two, and thus began her dream of connecting her whole life with singing. A little later, her family moved to Moscow, where Ekaterina began her musical journey.

After graduating from school, she enrols in the Moscow Music College, named after A.G. Schnittke, majoring in choral conducting. There she masters the basics of music theory and polyphonic singing. Whilst she studied, Ekaterina sang in various choirs and ensembles, was a member of many choral groups, and went on tour. The year 2010 became a turning point in her career. 

After graduating from college, she decides to leave conducting and devotes herself entirely to solo singing, enrolling the Slavic Academy in Moscow to major in opera singing and musical theater soloist. She graduates in 2015. 

Becoming an opera singer is Ekaterina’s main goal, and she is diligently looking for opportunities to realize her vocal potential. 


In 2013, she made the difficult decision to leave her native land and go to Karlsruhe (Germany) to study the European vocal repertoire at the Higher School of Music in the class of professor Christiane Libor. In 2016 she was awarded a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Foundation in Bayreuth. By 2019, Ekaterina successfully completed her studies in Karlsruhe with a bachelor’s and master’s degrees and began her career as an opera singer.

Ekaterina Mamysheva’s repertoire is not limited to classical music. After finishing her academic studies, she immersed herself in the study of folk and ethnic music. A wide variety of musical influences are felt in her work.

Currently, Ekaterina Mamysheva is involved in various projects as a freelance artist. In parallel with theatrical opera productions, she participates in media projects as a soundtrack vocalist. In addition to performing, Ekaterina is delving in to the art of composition of electronic music in the genres of trance, techno and folklore.
